HELLO,

Ashley Kalin

Ashley is perplexed by the relationship between individuals and their labyrinthes of raw, transient emotional states. Specifically, how emotions sculpt each of our own unique human experiences. Ashley illustrates the vulnerability of two specific fragile states, grief and anxiety. By using surrealist imagery, she takes such heavy states and converts them into obscure, powerful works of art.

She began drawing at the early age of two and her artistic career began to blossom at the age of 14. In 2018, she graduated with a BFA from Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University with a focus in video arts. Although her day job and passions lie within the video industry, she has always held fine arts very close to her core. She is passionate about exploring with multiple mediums at any given time, ranging from charcoal, soft pastel, oil pastel, graphite, paint, collage, digital art, etc.
